The Legendary Queen of Swing, Ms Norma Miller had been touring in certain European countries, for many years, but more extensive in the last 10 years, to share history and more recently to perform as a singer.
This year we would like to celebrate what would have been Norma Miller’s 100th Birthday, in the country that she called her second home, Italy.
From USA will join us film director and Norma’s agent John Biffar from Dreamtime Entertainment delivering unseen and late Norma Miller’s interviews, along with Chazz Young and Chester A. Whitmore
Panels, workshops, evenings, all in the same fantastic seaside hotel, the Grand Hotel Adriatico in Montesilvano (Pe) Italy, from November 29th to December 2nd.
Here you will find experts from all over the world able to deepen Music, Musicality, History and Culture of the Swing world, experts able to show Norma Miller’s choreographies and steps like you’ve never seen them before. You will listen to Norma’s songs and dance to the songs that Norma liked, thanks to her Orchestra. You’ll see unreleased videos and listen to exclusive interviews with the «Queen of Swing». You will find her latest book and her brand new cd «Swingin ‘at the Track».
Chazz Young (son of the legendary Frankie Manning) and Chester A. Whitmore (choreographer of the Frankie 100) assisted by Joseph Sewell and Charlotte Middlemiss, will be ready to revive and spread the work of the indomitable Norma Miller.

From the chorus girls line in 1927 to Cab Calloway’s band in 1931, from Leonard Reed to Norma Miller (note there is a shorter version that the Norma Miller Jazzman do that’s one chorus and a half…and there is one that is four courses long…learn all 6 courses!).

This routine has been in Norma Miller repertoire for many of years, now you can learn it.
– – «The Breaks» – –
If you’re going to be a solo jazz dancer you must know the breaks, in this class you will learn half break for brakes, Top break, sisters brakes, turn brakes and turnovers; you should know how to put the brakes into a 32 Bars phrase and a 12 Bars Blues phrase.
– – «Central Avenue Swings/Be-Blips» (from Duke’s Jump for Joy) –
There’s many styles of Lindy Hop but in this class you will learn the Afro Americans West Coast Los Angeles Lindy and Jazz. Chester Whitmore will lead you to LA Vernacular Jazz Lindy and Swing.

Come learn the legendary Jazz steps from the Son of the Great Frankie Manning; Chazz Young Legend, shows you how to really Jazz up your swing steps.

Como novedad en las clases, este año hemos introducido el Jazz Broadway. El jazz broadway es el solo jazz que conocemos hoy en día, pero una forma más evolucionada para los musicales, combinando con algunos movimientos líricos (contemporáneo) y, por supuesto, el claque. Este estilo te permite tambien aprender a controlar tu cuerpo de una forma más eficaz, ya que se busca más la limpieza y definición de los movimientos / This year we have added a new style to our workshops, this is Jazz Broadway. Jazz Broadway is the Solo Jazz we know actually but more evolutionated for musicals and combinating lyric and tap movements. You´ll learn to control your body more efficiently and clearly.

“A Christmas puzzle” takes place in 1930s New York at one of Harlem’s hottest jazz clubs: The Cotton Club.
There begins the search for the perfect Christmas show, a show that will reflect all sides of Christmas. There is a feverish mood among the club’s artists and everyone wants to impress the manager with their particular idea. The dancers present their various elements which show the good times of Christmas with generosity, tranquility and community but also the difficult times of Christmas with stress, hysteria, consumption and greed.
But what happens when everything merges? Will it be as expected or can everything be set right when the last puzzle piece comes into place?
«A Christmas Puzzle» is a swing dance musical written and produced by Sandra Klack and Mattias Lundmark. The ensemble consists of some of the world’s leading swing dancers and the performance is filled with singing, dancing and music from jazz’s heyday. Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz, Stepp and Charleston are accompanied by classic Christmas songs from jazz giants such as; Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald et al.

”A Christmas puzzle” utspelar sig i 30-talets New York på en av Harlems hetaste jazzklubbar: The Cotton Club.
Där börjar sökandet efter den perfekta julshowen, en show som ska spegla julens alla sidor. Det uppstår en febril stämning bland klubbens artister och alla vill imponera på chefen med just sin idé. Dansarna presenterar sina olika inslag som visar julens goda stunder med givmildhet, lugn och gemenskap men även julens svåra stunder med stress, hysteri, konsumtion och girighet.
Men vad händer när allt slås samman? Blir det som förväntat eller kan allt ställas på ända när den sista pusselbiten kommer på plats?
”A Christmas Puzzle” är en swingdans-musikal skriven och producerad av Sandra Klack och Mattias Lundmark. Ensemblen består av några av världens främsta swingdansare och föreställningen är fylld med sång, dans och musik från jazzens storhetstid. Lindy Hop, Autentisk Jazz, Stepp och Charleston ackompanjeras av klassiska jullåtar från jazzens giganter; Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald m fl.
Dansare: Sandra Klack, Mikaela Hellsten, Maja Hellsten, Anna Fors, Markus Rosendal, Mattias Lundmark, Jakob Bergelin.
Föreställningslängd: 70 minuter utan paus.
Den 28de december kommer showen vara på engelska.

Moscow Christmas Swing Dance Camp 2020.
From 3 to 8 of January.
Moscow Christmas Swing Dance Camp is the biggest swing dance festival in Russia and CIS countries. Since 2005 we bring best instructors from all over the dancing world to teach and inspire local and guest swing dancers.
MXDC is famous for its multi-track program (lindy hop, boogie-woogie, balboa, blues, solo jazz and various bonus classes), crazy parties on five dance floors, contests and magnificent Cabaret-shows.
About five hundred people enjoy this event every year – there’s no reason to miss it this time!
You are invited to spend unforgettable vacations in the best company you can imagine – top-level teachers, enthusiastic dancers and splendid swing music!

Московский рождественский танцевальный лагерь свинга пройдет с 3 по 8 января 2020 года. Всего в нескольких километрах от Москвы в современном отеле Олимпиец.

THE SWINGADDICT ! Three days of 100% swing workshop that you don’t want to miss !
Everything will by precisely descripted in a few days (live bands, dance contests, etc.): but here’s what y’all need to know right now !
WHAT IS IT ?
Swingaddicts is an international Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz Roots event. In order to maintain a good social and interpersonal vibe, all of the workshops are limited in terms of participant number, and are conducted in the intimacy of a Dance Studio (well that’s a big one we confess 😉
WHEN AND WHERE IS IT ?
It happens in Saint Etienne (circa. 40 km to Lyon), France, and take place the first weekend of February 2020 (exactly from Friday 31/01/2019 to Sunday 02/02/2020)
